Rule of Third:

The rule of thirds is a set of guidelines used to make images more visually appealing by aligning the images on the foreground with the rule of thirds.

S-Curve:

The S-Curve creates a path that the viewers eye shall follow as it leads throughout the image. It is normally used to show an area that has natural S shapes.

Framing:

Framing is most commonly found in architectural buildings where there are groups of three buildings. they can be used in the foreground to highlight the objects in the background and cut them up.

Colour:

Colour can be used to create contrasts between different objects in the image, or it can be used as tones and shades to create warm or cool effects the image.

Pattern:

Patterns are repeating shapes or lines used in design. They are used everywhere to add different designs to objects.

Texture:

Texture is the different feels that an object can have. This can be portrayed using photography by showing how it would feel or its consistency in the image.

Point Of View:

Point of view is where the camera has been places when it is taking the image. It can create different effects for the photography and portray a different message based on the placement of the camera.

Perspective:

The relationship between different objects. Perspective allows objects to be perceived as larger or smaller than they really are.

Extreme Long Shot:

An extreme long shot would be a shot that is taken at such a large distance that people would be seen as only dots.

Long Shot:

A long shot is taken at a considerable distance, but less large than an Extreme Long Shot. People would be able to be seen in this shot.

Medium Shot:

This is a shot that is taken at a medium distance. People would be seen clearly in this shot.

Medium Close Up:

A medium Close Up would hold a persons face or body tightly into the frame. The background would not be able to be clearly seen.

Close Up:

A close up image is when one the head is in the frame. It could also focus mainly on one part of the face or the whole face.

Big Close Up:

A big close up that will focus on one part of the body only.

Extreme Close Up:

Full detail on a small part of the body.
