Plan for Unit 6

Thursday 15th March: Emma and I are going to go over to Tesco in Grove Green and ask their manager if we would be able to take pictures inside their store. If they say yes, we shall do a quick test shoot to see if the lighting and the layout of the store will be suitable for the shoot. If they say no, then we will use our backup idea of going to a junkyard in the next week and do a shoot there.

They said that we could shoot there as long as we do not include people in our picture. This will not be a problem for us as we do not need any people for this aspect of our magazine. we did a quick test shoot on our phones so that we could make sure that the style would work for our project. The first image below is of the lake that we will do our shoot in. We went here on the way to Tesco because Emma had never been there before so it was to show her the location for the lake shoot and to brainstorm some more ideas. We thought about taking some pictures of the ducks to show the nature.

We will take the 9 from the chequers bus station and then stop at vinters valley before going to grive green tescos.

Friday 16th March: We will be in the studio all day so we will be unable to work on the project. I need to make sure that I have got all of my research done by Monday so that I can focus on creating the magazine.

Today we spent the whole day in the studio. We were at work experience. This was interesting as I had not been in a proffesional shoot before so it was exciting to see what goes on and moving the models was fun too.

Saturday/Sunday March: I will finish any research that is left over and make sure that our plan has been finalised.

On saturday I completed a third photographer. This one focuses on ducks and wildlife which links to our final word which is lake. All of my research now has a corresponding photographer which I have taken some inspiration from and will use to improve my pictures.

Monday 19th March: We will need to catch up with our work today because we missed all of fridays lessons. we will need to create a presentation showing our work so that we can get some peer feedback. I will also work on the project int he last lesson.

Today we presented our plans. We didn't have much time to make the presentation as we had work experience on the friday so we had to catch up a lot. In Photography last period i finished editing my work experience photos so that I could focus on Unit 6 for the rest of the week.

Tuesday 20th March: Today we planned to finish the work that we had missed on friday. This was hard though because we were needed for Charlie and Rebecca shoot which took a lot longer than we had expected.

Today we spent the day in Rebecca and Charlies photo shoot. Emma started creating the primary research questionnaire so that we would have an idea on our target audience for the magazine.

Wednesday 21st March: At midday Emma and I are going to meet at a cemetery in the town centre to take pictures for our second double spread pages. We will also need to buy some flowers for the shoot before we get there. We may also go to Grove green Tesco if the manager has agreed.

Emma and I met at midday. We went to buy some red roses at Tesco and we went over to a cemetery behind a church. We did not like this setting however as the graves were closed off and there wasn't much choice so we went to a different cemetery. The second one was better because the graves were not bordered off so we could get to them so shoot the pictures. We found one with a mans name on. This was important as he was our "husband". We used a grave over 100 years old so that there was less chance that there would be angry relatives.

We then took the 9 over to vintners nature reserve. we went over to the lake to take some pictures for our back cover. This could have gone better because there were scary geese that kept coming over and there was a lot of people so it was quite hard to get the shot that i wanted.

Finally we wwnt over to grove green to get our refrigerator shots. we decided to do it today and not on thursday because it would cost Emma more money to get back here so we did it all in one day. we had to speak to the manager because they didn't quite understand what we wanted. It was hard to take these pictures because there were people shopping and some of the crates of vegetables were not as full as we had hoped so there was more blank space in the picture.

Thursday 22nd March: Emma and I are going to go to the Vinters Valley Nature Reserve and take some pictures for our lake page on the back of the magazine. We are still unsure of the page layout for that theme so we may have to brainstorm some more ideas.

After doing all three of our shoots on Wednesday we did not need to go to grove green, however charlie and Rebecca still needed us for a shoot so we had to go into college to be in their photoshoot.

Friday 23rd March: In the first period we are going to begin looking through the photos that we took on Wednesday. We will pick out the right ones for editing and start brainstorming where we will put the pictures on each page. This may also carry on into the second period. We will also analyse the primary research that we gathered.

In the second period, we created the front cover of our magazine. This took the whole lesson as we were deciding what words to add on the front and testing different styles out.

In the third period we are going to collect feedback from the class on our images and then we will use the feedback to edit and improve our images for the magazine.

In the fourth period I am going to write up the feedback that has been given to me. For the rest of the lesson I will write up how i edited the front cover that I created in the second lesson.

Monday 26th March: In the first session I am going to recreate the front cover. This is because we decided that cuisine will not fit the theme of the pictures so we are going to change it to tips for becoming a vegetarian. We will also aim to recreate the front cover in this lesson. Today I am going to create the back cover of the magazine. I will use the images that Emma has edited.

Tuesday 27th March: In the two periods, we are going to make the first double page spread. We will also aim to edit all of the images so that they are ready to use. I am working on the lake page as we did not like the first one. In the second lesson I hope to finish a double page.
